BLEEDING CONTROL ANDÂ
ADVANCED BLEEDING CONTROL
You may not be able to predict an event resulting in severe bleeding, but you can prepare to respond to it.
BLEEDING CONTROL
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, traumatic injury is one of the leading causes of death for people under 50 years of age in the United States. A large portion of those deaths are from severe bleeding – the most treatable cause of death due to trauma.

This course is intended for you! It is for everyone! Bystanders are always the first on the scene, even before the Emergency Responders. What a bystander does to help a person in need of First Aid can mean the difference between life and death. A person can die from blood loss within minutes if hemorrhaging is not controlled.
This course teaches, but is not limited to:
How to identify where the blood is coming from
How and where to effectively apply pressure with the hand
How to apply dressings and adequate pressure
How and where to apply tourniquets, both improvised, and manufactured tourniquets.
Proper wound packing
Proper use of hemostatic dressings
ADVANCED BLEEDING CONTROL
Advanced Bleeding Control is designed for groups and individuals who have a greater than average chance of witnessing an injury event in which heavy bleeding occurs and professional medical care is not readily available or is overwhelmed. This course is an excellent match for law enforcement, private security, workplace emergency response team personnel and staff at large events, campuses or large occupied buildings. The ASHI Advanced Bleeding Control training program is intended for individuals who desire or are required to become trained in the use of commercial and improvised control devices for the immediate management of severe external bleeding.
